Dr. Anthony R. Garibay is the Dean of the School of Arts, Humanities, and Education at APUS, a role he has held since February 2022. He is a forward-thinking, student-centered leader committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities, supporting and empowering faculty, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
A data minded visionary with strong entrepreneurial, strategic, and analytical skills, Dr. Garibay is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has served in numerous leadership roles throughout his time in higher education, including Financial Aid Director, Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Services, Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, and Chief Academic and Accrediting Officer.
Before joining APUS, Dr. Garibay held administrative positions in a public school in Phoenix, Arizona, and various academic and student affairs leadership roles in colleges in Chicago, Illinois. He began his career in Pre-K-12 education in Chicago, where he held both teaching and leadership positions.
Dr. Garibay holds a Ed.D. in Educational Leadership in Higher Education and a MEd in Educational Leadership, both from DePaul University. He earned a B.A. in Theology from Loyola University Chicago, and has a certificate in Higher Education Teaching from Harvard, in addition to a certificate in Instructional Design and Performance Improvement from Arizona State University (ASU). He is currently pursuing a MEd in Learning Design and Technology from ASU and a Ph.D. in Global Educational Leadership from DePaul University.
