Ms. Caroline Simpson

Ms. Simpson leads the University’s Student & Alumni Services Department. She has been with APUS since 2005 and her responsibilities include Career Services, Student & Alumni Affairs, Student Wellness Services, and the Conduct & Grievance Office. These teams offer a suite of services that put our learners’ needs first and co-curricular programming that fosters strong networks and builds on key classroom learning.

Ms. Simpson also serves as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Council. Over the last two decades, she has worked on and/or led many of our student-facing teams. This includes playing a significant role in the creation, development, and evolution of many of our student services.

One of APUS's first advisors, Ms. Simpson has been instrumental in helping design programs and experiences that meet the unique needs of our students. As an adult learner herself, she understands the challenges and rewards associated with balancing school with work and family responsibilities.

Ms. Simpson has focused on all ages and levels of learning throughout her career, both in and outside of the classroom. Prior to APUS, she taught at both the elementary and secondary level and designed engagement opportunities at an intergenerational preschool.

Ms. Simpson earned a M.A. in Management and Organizational Leadership from American Public University and holds a B.A. in English and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
