An independent executive coach and organizational consultant, Frank Ball works extensively with leaders and their teams to build leadership capacity within their organizations. He has specialized in working with executives in new organizations and those re-tooling themselves to meet new challenges since 1995.
Mr. Ball’s previous and concurrent experiences include roles as:
- Co-founder and Managing Partner of New Dominion Angels, which invested in 34 start-up companies in the Mid-Atlantic region between 2008 and 2023.
- Serving successively as Vice President for Student Services at American Military University (AMU) and Vice President for Marketing at American Public University System (APUS) in 2002 and 2003.
- An Adjunct Faculty Member in Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership from 1997 to 2018.
- Leader of the Management and Leadership curriculum area in Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) Office of Training and Education from 1989 to 1995.
- Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1989, and a Viet Nam veteran.
Education:
Mr. Ball was awarded the Doctor of Public Service (Honoris Causa) by AMU in 2016. Prior to that, he earned a Master of Science in Business Financial Management from The George Washington University in 1980, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Davidson College in 1969. Mr. Ball also earned Graduate Certificates in Financial Planning (2008) and Organization Development (1995) from Georgetown University. In 2018 Georgetown University presented him with the Silver Vicennial Medal for his service to that University.
